10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Special worship service for the 2024 Games at the American Church of Paris (ACP), broadcast on FRANCE2 television.
Just a few days before the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Games, which will take place between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, right in front of the pediment of the American Church of Paris, this Sunday’s international celebration will be a moment of launch and recognition for the Protestant presence at the Games.
This event will be an opportunity to reaffirm Protestantism’s commitment to today’s society, both nationally and internationally. Protestants would like to recall the historical contribution of Protestantism to sport and the Games, and the values they share: the encounter with others, peaceful competition, perseverance, the joy of success, consolation in trial and failure, solidarity, inclusiveness, hope, etc.
At this celebration, they wish to share with the athletes and everyone else the benevolent spiritual support they will receive from their chaplains during the events.
A service organized by the Fédération Protestante de France, the American Church in Paris (ACP) and the Aumônerie Protestante aux Jeux de Paris.
