______________
A Broadway actor arrives in your neighborhood directly from New York. He is a believer and would like to donate his talents to the church during his stay in town in July and until the end of the Olympic Games.
Rich Swingle, the actor
Rich has interpreted the life of Eric Liddell all over the world, stopping off in cities hosting the Games: Beijing, Vancouver, Singapore (during the first Youth Games), London and soon Paris!
The show was appreciated and supported by Eric Liddell’s family and by many people who knew him personally: Eric Liddell’s three daughters, his nieces during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a host of relatives in Toronto, one of his former students in China, and many people who remember him from his time in the Japanese internment camp where he died, including two of the great-grandchildren of Hudson Taylor, founder of China Inland Missions.
Beyond the carts, the room
Rich transforms into dozens of characters for this captivating one-man-play. This magnificent illustration of grace will not leave you indifferent. The impact of its message and the delicacy with which it is presented make it a culturally appropriate piece for audiences of all backgrounds.
A moment in history
Did you know that this is the first time in history that a city has hosted the Olympic Games on the occasion of the centenary of the organization of the Games? And it was during the 1924 Paris Games that Eric Liddell broke the world record, to the amazement of the press and the glory of God. After winning the gold medal, he pursued his missionary vocation in China. This piece begins the story at the 1924 Paris Games and follows his life across China, influencing runners and coaching athletes. Every aspect of his life is a model of the Gospel embodied by a humble man who touched lives wherever he went.
